Ortco Inc. signs on as USL Title sponsor

GLENPOOL, Okla. (January 20, 2024) - New United Sprint League owner Michael Tyre is pleased to announce that Ortco Inc., based in Oklahoma City, has signed on as series title sponsor for 2024.

Nick Newton, a well known sprint car owner who has fielded cars in USL and OCRS competition, co-owns and operates Ortco Inc. with Cameron Bentley and Tiffany Bentley. Newton felt the time was right to help grow non-wing sprint racing in Oklahoma.

“We love non wing racing and Michael is a great guy and we wanna see him be successful and grow non wing racing in and around Oklahoma,” Newton said. “Ashley Newton has helped with the Ironman race for a couple years now so we try and support all non wing races in Oklahoma.

“Ortco Incorporated is a 3rd generation small manufacturing business located in Oklahoma City that has been in operation since 1956 and specializes in the manufacturing of oilfield drill pipe handling equipment, parts and accessories. Ortco Inc. also provides hydraulic tong repair, and tong parts. Ortco prides itself on manufacturing 100% American made products from raw steel to finished goods.”

Tyre feels Ortco Inc. sponsorship will enable him to reach his goals for USL.

“When I first purchased the series I knew my main objective was going to be trying to improve the series for the teams financially. I knew I would need some sponsorship and marketing partners to achieve this,” Tyre said of his goals for the series. “Nick reached out to me with interest in getting involved right away, I wasn't even to the point of approaching businesses for support.

“It means a great deal to me that the team at Ortco Inc. believes in my vision for the series enough to jump on board right away without hesitation. I'm thankful for everyone involved with Ortco Inc, and extremely thankful for Nick Newton reaching out and wanting to help me try and grow this great sport we all love.”

A 10-race schedule has been released for the 2024 Ortco Inc. United Sprint League season. Red Dirt Raceway will host the season opener with the running of the Hero 100. on March 30th. Drivers will qualify via time trials for starting positions in the 100-lapper. Details and payout will be revealed soon. Only show up points will be awarded for this event.

The Ironman 55 at Creek County Speedway on August 31 will also be a show up points only event.

Creek County will host three other events, Two events are set for Caney Valley Speedway while Elk City Motorsports Park and Tulsa Speedway will hold one event each. The season ends September 21 at Red Dirt Raceway.
